They Matter event recap
On Saturday, November 8th, CRCQL held its annual They Matter event at the Access Center in Chester, where we celebrate the lives of our loved ones who have been affected by cancer. Because of the pollution in Chester and the surrounding areas, people who live there are the ones who have the highest cancer rates in the country. We hold this event to remind ourselves why we continue to fight.

In addition to celebrating the cherished memories of our loved ones, CRCQL presented awards to Leslie Wilson and George Howie. A special tribute was also made to the family of our dear Joshua Shockley. Joshua, who hosted this event two years ago to honor his mother who passed from cancer, has unfortunately also succumbed to the disease. It was in his memory that we honored his family at this occasion.

Leslie Wilson made a significant contribution by creating a beautiful song specifically for this event. You can listen to this touching tribute on our Instagram page.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to our vendors, Physicians for Social Responsibility, Health Educated, Main Line Health, Trinity Transitional House, Inc., and an extra special thank you to C4 and the rest of our CRCQL family, who helped make this day very special.
